GIUSEPPE GABETTI  (Torino, 04 Marzo 1796 –   La Morra , 22 Gennaio 1862) Nasce a Torino il 04 Marzo 1796. Rimane orfano giovanissimo. Dopo aver studiato volino, diventa compositore di musica sacra e trova lavoro nell’orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino. La prima moglie muore subito dopo le nozze. Dalla seconda moglie ha quattro figli. Nel 1831 compone la Marcia Reale che divenne l’inno nazionale italiano fino al 1946. Muore a La Morra nel 1862 . He was born in Turin on 4 March 1796. He was orphaned at a very young age. After studying violin, he became a composer of sacred music and found work in the orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin. The first wife dies immediately after the wedding. From his second wife he has four children. In 1831 he composed the Royal March which became the Italian national anthem until 1946.
