GIUSEPPE SOLARO 

(Rocca De Baldi, 01 Settembre 1879 –  Torino, 16 Gennaio 1968)

Veterinario. Nato a Rocca De Baldi, il 01 settembre 1879.  Fu tra i primi all’inizio del ‘900 ad aprire un ambulatorio per piccoli animali a Torino. E’ considerato il padre della moderna cinofilia. Autore di molte pubblicazioni,  a lui si deve lo standard del Pointer. Alla sua memoria è dedicato il Gruppo Cinofilo Torinese. Fu giudice e presidente dell’ E.N.C.I. e della F.C.I.  Fu nominato Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana. Muore a Torino nel 1968, all’età di 88 anni.

Veterinarian. Born in Rocca De Baldi, on 1 September 1879. He was among the first at the beginning of the 20th century to open a clinic for small animals in Turin. He is considered the father of modern dog breeding. Author of many publications, he is responsible for the Pointer standard. The Gruppo Cinofilo Torinese is dedicated to his memory. He was a judge and president of the E.N.C.I. and the F.C.I.  He was appointed Commander of the Italian Republic. He died in Turin in 1968, at the age of 88.

Il est considéré comme le père de l’élevage canin moderne. Auteur de nombreuses publications, il est à l'origine du standard Pointer. Le Gruppo Cinofilo Torinese est dédié à sa mémoire. Il fut juge et président de l'E.N.C.I. et la F.C.I.  Il est nommé Commandeur de la République italienne. Il meurt à Turin en 1968, à l'âge de 88 ans.

Fue juez y presidente de la E.N.C.I. y la F.C.I.  Fue nombrado comandante de la República Italiana. Murió en Turín en 1968, a la edad de 88 años. 

Tierarzt. Geboren am 1. September 1879 in Rocca De Baldi. Er gehörte zu den ersten, die zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts in Turin eine Klinik für Kleintiere eröffneten. Er gilt als Vater der modernen Hundezucht. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Veröffentlichungen und verantwortlich für den Pointer-Standard. Die Gruppo Cinofilo Torinese ist seinem Andenken gewidmet. Er war Richter und Präsident des E.N.C.I. und die F.C.I.  Er wurde zum Kommandeur der Italienischen Republik ernannt. Er starb 1968 im Alter von 88 Jahren in Turin.
