Nacque a Monte Compatri l’ 11 Novembre 1858. È conosciuto per essere l'ultimo cantante castrato. Le qualità vocali del bambino vennero notata da un frate membro del Coro della Cappella Sistina alla ricerca di nuovi talenti. Nel 1871 il giovane viene condotto a Roma. Nel 1873 viene nominato primo soprano della Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. In ogni nota mette un singhiozzo o un sospiro. Le note più acute hanno un che di sovrannaturale. Nel 1883 interpreta una parte nella composizione Christus am Ölberge di Ludwig van Beethoven guadagnandosi il soprannome di “angelo di Roma”. Diventa soprano nel Coro della Cappella Sistina. Il 9 agosto 1900, dietro esplicita richiesta della famiglia reale italiana, cantò al Pantheon di Roma, alla cerimonia funebre in suffragio del re Umberto I. Il 22 novembre 1903 Papa Pio X decretò la fine dell'impiego dei castrati. Moreschi maturò i requisiti pensionistici nel 1913 e si ritirò nello stesso anno. Negli ultimi anni impartì privatamente lezioni di canto e morì a Roma il 21 aprile 1922.

The child's vocal qualities were noticed by a friar member of the Sistine Chapel Choir who was looking for new talents. In 1871 the young man was taken to Rome. In 1873 he was appointed first soprano of the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano. In every note he puts a sob or a sigh. The higher notes have a supernatural quality. In 1883 he played a part in Ludwig van Beethoven's composition Christus am Ölberge, earning himself the nickname "angel of Rome". Becomes a soprano in the Sistine Chapel Choir. On 9 August 1900, at the explicit request of the Italian royal family, he sang at the Pantheon in Rome, at the funeral ceremony for King Umberto I. On 22 November 1903 Pope Pius X decreed the end of the use of castrati. Moreschi met the pension requirements in 1913 and retired in the same year. In his last years he gave private singing lessons and died in Rome on 21 April 1922.

En 1873, il fut nommé premier soprano de la basilique Saint-Jean-de-Latran. Dans chaque note il met un sanglot ou un soupir. Les notes les plus hautes ont une qualité surnaturelle. En 1883, il participe à la composition Christus am Ölberge de Ludwig van Beethoven, ce qui lui vaut le surnom d'« ange de Rome ». Devient soprano dans le chœur de la Chapelle Sixtine. Le 9 août 1900, à la demande explicite de la famille royale italienne, il chante au Panthéon de Rome, lors des funérailles du roi Umberto I. Le 22 novembre 1903, le pape Pie X décrète la fin du recours aux castrats. Moreschi remplit les conditions de retraite en 1913 et prend sa retraite la même année. Au cours de ses dernières années, il donna des cours particuliers de chant et mourut à Rome le 21 avril 1922.

Wird Sopranistin im Chor der Sixtinischen Kapelle. Am 9. August 1900 sang er auf ausdrücklichen Wunsch der italienischen Königsfamilie im Pantheon in Rom bei der Trauerfeier für König Umberto I. Am 22. November 1903 verfügte Papst Pius X. das Ende der Verwendung von Kastraten. Moreschi erfüllte 1913 die Rentenvoraussetzungen und ging im selben Jahr in den Ruhestand. In seinen letzten Lebensjahren gab er privaten Gesangsunterricht und starb am 21. April 1922 in Rom .
